To all COSAM faculty, staff, and students,

For the last two weeks, COSAM has worked together to overcome challenges and fulfill our mission to educate students.

I feel a tremendous amount of pride that our college has united together to help each other and our community. COSAM has risen to this challenge not just for students who are taking classes this semester, but in representing past generations of the Auburn Family and encouraging tomorrow’s students. COSAM has implemented the following ways to help:

Academic advisors transitioned to remote advising for students.
Tutoring resources are now online to assist students throughZoom and Slack.
Prospective students can participate in online opportunities for tours.
COSAM created a news page to help everyone stay connected with the latest information:
COSAM developed an online resources page to help students find tools in one convenient place:
COSAM created a page for faculty and staff resources:

I also wanted to recap the latest news:

Students who would have participated in the May 2020 graduation ceremony, can attend the summer ceremony with unlimited invitations. We are working on an event to replace the May ceremony, perhaps with a special tailgate in the fall.
Registration for summer courses begins on April 6, which can help students get ahead and earn college credit in foundational courses.
Study abroad programs are canceled for this summer.
The tenure clock can be extended for Assistant Professors.(Interested faculty should contact their Department Chair or me for more information.)
Research activities continue but I urge everyone working in research labs to pay attention to social distancing.
Leadership Council will take place via Zoom and the Spring State of the College is currently being planned.

I sincerely appreciate how COSAM faculty, staff, and students are setting an example of perseverance through this transitional time to make our entire college stronger for the future.

Thanks.

Nick
