The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry and the Auburn Section of the American Chemical Society named Marcetta Y. Darensbourg, Distinguished Professor of Chemistry at Texas A&M University, the recipient of the 2018 Kosolapoff Award. Darensbourg’s research is in the area of organometallic chemistry, and her lecture was titled, “Old Biology Inspires New Chemistry: The Hydrogen Economy from Pond Silt to Photovoltaic/Fuel Cells.”

Oeding invited by Université de Technologie Belfort-Montbéliard to be a Visiting Research Professor

Dr. Luke Oeding has been invited by the Université de Technologie Belfort-Montbéliard (UTBM) in Belfort, France, to be a Visiting Research Professor from May 15 to July 14, 2018. The goal of the visiting research professor program is to increase research competitiveness and strengthen research connections between UTBM and other international institutions. Dr. Oeding will work with his host, Dr. Frédéric Holweck, and other researchers at UTBM on topics centered on the Algebraic Geometry of Tensors in Quantum Information Theory and Computer Vision.
