Title: Tensors in Algebraic Geometry and Applications

Abstract: I will give an overview of my work over the past several years in Applied Non-Linear Algebra. On the "applied" side I will discuss work on Brain Computer Interfaces, Computer Vision and Collaborative Navigation.  On the "pure" side I will describe work in algebraic geometry on uncovering fundamental properties of algebraic varieties in spaces of tensors such as secant varieties of Segre, Veronese, and Grassmann varieties, and work in developing new combinations of numerical and symbolic computational techniques.  I'll also discuss work in matrix theory and a new connection between frame theory and tensor decomposition.
