Details: Speaker: Hwangrae Lee Title: How to approximate x^10 +0.01 to x^10? Abstract: We first give preliminaries relevant to the problem, starting with Eckart-Young theorem which is concerned with varieties of low rank matrices. The ultimate goal of this talk is to find the polynomial having a root of high multiplicity and nearest to the given polynomial. |
