COSAM hosting The AU Science Café June 28

The College of Sciences and Mathematics is hosting a new outreach program for the community, “The AU Science Café.” Each month, The AU Science Café will provide an opportunity for the community to discuss cutting-edge scientific topics with an Auburn University scientist. The AU Science Café will take place on Tuesday, June 28, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., at Mama Mochas Coffee Emporium at 414 S. Gay Street. The guest scientist will be Paul Cobine, associate professor in the Department of Biological Sciences, who will discuss, “The Pennies Inside of You – Copper Chemistry.” Cobine will talk about copper’s use in the human body, the mysteries behind that use, and how our understanding of copper may affect our awareness of various debilitating diseases.

No scientific background is required to participate in The AU Science Café, and no question is too silly to ask. All are invited to attend. For more information, contact Josh King at 334-734-1182, or by email at josh.king@auburn.edu.
