All Undergraduates who are or have been involved with research are encouraged to participate in the AU Undergraduate Research Forum.

Below are the requirements for participation:

1. Submit your abstract to lamkelk@auburn.edu no later than:

Deadline: Wedensday, February 1, 2006

Abstract guidelines:

• Each Uundergraduate is required to submit an abstract summarizing research activities and findings..

• Abstracts should be prepared in 'Word' (*.doc fonnat) and submitted electronically to cmb@auburn.edu or lamkelk.edu as email attachments no later than Friday,February 10, 2006. The document should be contained on a single page (8.5" x I 1.0") with I inch margins, using Times New Roman font (12 cpi).

• Abstracts MUST include the following information and be prepared as outlined below:

Name:

Hometown:

Current Curriculum:

Mentor :

Title:

Authors: Student and Mentor (full names)

Affiliations: Department / College where work was conducted

Abstract: [-300 words.] The abstract should include a description of. (1) technical and/or scientific goals; (2) pivotal techniques employed; (3) scientific results / technical accomplishments; and (4) implications. of the work.

2. In your email abstract, please inform us of your first and second choice in presenting your research: Oral presentation or poster.

Time is limited, so not everyone will be able to give an oral presentation. An email notification will be sent to each of you February 6.

Oral presentations must be presented in a powerpoint format. Presentations should be no longer than 12 minutes. Three additional minutes will be allowed for questions. Presentations must be on a CD and submitted to Kathy Feminella by Monday 20.

Poster: Dimensions 36" X 48". Posters must be delivered to the AU Alumni Center by 4:00 on Thursday, February 23.

3. The Forum begins at 8:00 am, and all participants must be at the Forum by 8:00. Breakfast and lunch snacks will be provided. University excuses will be provided for those who need to miss class.
