A zebra colt found injured Tuesday morning along Interstate 75 south of Atlanta is recovering at the Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine following surgery Wednesday to repair a 10 inch laceration and internal injuries.

The two month old zebra, which may have fallen off a trailer on the interstate, was likely hit by another vehicle. It was found grazing near the busy highway and taken to Noah's Ark, an animal care center that is home to more than 1,000 animals. Officials there took the zebra, nicknamed "Evidence," to Auburn's Large Animal Hospital for treatment. He is expected to make a full recovery.
