Can a high-rise building be made of wood? Auburn University will host an award-winning architect to answer that question during a seminar, "Future of Tall: Building a Wood High-Rise in the U.S.," on Wednesday, Oct. 4, at 2 p.m. at Auburn’s Telfair B. Peet Theatre. The public seminar and reception will feature Thomas Robinson, accomplished architect and founder of the Portland, Oregon-based international architectural firm, LEVER Architecture.

In honor of their pioneering journey and those of others who followed, Auburn is celebrating 125 Years of Auburn Women. This year, the School of Forestry and Wildlife Sciences also celebrates an important milestone of 45 years of women in forestry, wildlife and natural resources.

Auburn University today announced new security measures for the Tiger Ten late night bus service. The university’s contractor, First Transit, will implement a program that includes hiring a security firm to place security personnel on each bus.

Seven outstanding alumni and ambassadors of Auburn University and the Samuel Ginn College of Engineering were honored Sept. 15 by the Auburn Alumni Engineering Council. These alumni included five who were recognized as Distinguished Auburn Engineers, one as an Outstanding Young Auburn Engineer and one for Superior Service to the college. For the first time in the history of the Distinguished Auburn Engineers, or DAE, award, more women were represented than men.

This academic year marks the 104th season of theatre at Auburn University as well as the 125th anniversary of women on Auburn’s campus. The theme for this year’s theatre season—Letting in the Light—is inspired by famed theatre director Anne Bogart, who famously said, "Speaking a story can be an act of letting in light."
