Photography/Videography/Artwork Policy

Auburn University has recently established a new policy concerning commercial photography, videography, and artwork that reflects images of the campus and/or its entities.

In order to preserve the condition of the campus and maintain the university's public image, Auburn University now requires that all commercial photographers, videographers, and artists must obtain a permit to shoot or compose on campus. This includes those receiving payment for shooting photos or videos for weddings, portrait sessions, graduation, or athletic events, etc.

Please review the policy prior to submitting an application for permit.

There are two permit options available for you, depending on your commercial needs. Either of these fees is non-refundable.

  • An annual permit is valid for one year and must be renewed yearly. The fee is $500.00.
  • A one-time use permit is valid for 90 minutes to capture an event on Auburn University property. The fee for one-time use is $100.00.

Regardless of the type of permit you are given, you must notify the Office of Communications and Marketing within normal university business hours and at least 24 hours prior to each of your session by calling (334)844-9999 or by emailing auevent@auburn.edu. Normal business hours are Monday-Friday, 7:45 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. central standard time.
