SPURLIN NAMED AU MARCHING BAND DIRECTOR
Robert Greenleaf, interim chair of the Auburn University Music Department, has announced that Corey Spurlin has been named marching band director, effective June 1, and that former director Rick Good has been promoted to director of bands.

AU RESEARCHERS FIND THE BENEFITS OF SNACKING IN OLDER ADULTS
Snacking may be very important in keeping us healthy as we age. A recent AU study found that older individuals who do not snack have very low energy intakes.

SPACES STILL AVAILABLE FOR SUMMER Y.E.S. YOUTH SCIENCE CAMPS
The Youth Experiences in Science "Y.E.S." summer camps, sponsored by the College of Sciences and Mathematics, still have spaces available for camps June 4-8 and June 11-15 for children in upcoming grades 1-6, and for June 25-27 and July 9-13 for students in upcoming grades 6-9.

SUMMER ACTIVITIES FOR YOUTH ABOUND AT AU
During the summer, a wide variety of youth activities are conducted on the AU campus. Many camp activities are athletic in nature, such as football, basketball and cheerleading, while others provide academic enrichment, such as Engineering Tigers, architecture, design and computer robotics, or ROBO.

BOB ADERHOLDT ENDOWED PROFESSORSHIP ESTABLISHED IN BUILDING SCIENCE
The AU Department of Building Science received contributions and commitments from more than 550 individuals and companies this spring in raising $300,000 for the Bob Aderholdt Endowed Professorship. The professorship will be awarded to the outstanding instructor in the Department of Building Science who upholds the high standard of character and teaching excellence demonstrated by Aderholdt during his 27 years of service to AU.

FACULTY-STAFF CAMPAIGN GARNERS RECORD PARTICIPATION
Faculty and staff volunteers were asked by their colleagues across campus to help ensure that the “It Begins at Auburn” Campaign really does begin at Auburn. They answered with a record 55 percent participation, an increase of 12 percent from last year.

AU FEDERAL CREDIT UNION TO CHANGE LOCATIONS
The Auburn University Federal Credit Union is selling its building to Auburn University and will break ground this fall for a new building at the northwest corner of South Donahue Drive and East University Drive. AU's Board of Trustees on April 27 approved the purchase of the credit union's building on West Magnolia Avenue for $875,000.

It's time to nominate an outstanding woman for the Pamela Wells Sheffield Award. The committee is seeking nominations for women who have fostered the spirit of Auburn, and who have gone above and beyond to make sure that Auburn's spirit never dies. Send us your graduation videos
The Auburn Alumni Association is venturing into the popular area of online video streaming services, which allow Internet users to view and share homemade video clips. For the first time, Auburn University graduates can submit their commencement clips for potential posting to the alumni association Web site. Videos may include footage from before, during or after graduation ceremonies. To participate, spring graduates should e-mail video(s) to alumweb@auburn.edu by May 31.

If tailgating just wouldn't be the same without that one special dish, we want you to share it with other Tiger Fans. Send your favorite tailgating recipe(s) along with the chef's name to alumweb@auburn.edu by June 30. If you have a photo of someone enjoying the dish (in JPG format), please include that as well. The Tiger Tailgating recipes selected will be posted on our Web site, www.aualum.org, from July 1 through November 30. War Eagle and Happy Tailgating!

Remember how you felt in that rock-around-the-clock year 1957? You got your diploma. Elvis got to be king of rock 'n roll, and the Tigers got crowned national champions in football.
