Cookbook to benefit Foy Spirit Scholarship

Sorority members at Auburn University have cooked up a way to raise money for a good cause.

They’ve written a cookbook.

“There’s a Tiger in the Kitchen” is a compilation of more than 1,600 recipes contributed by members of AU’s 16 sororities. All proceeds from the sale of the books benefit the James E. and Emma O. Foy Spirit Scholarship, named for AU’s long-time dean of students and his wife. The scholarship is awarded each year to a rising senior demonstrating both academic excellence and service to the community.

The book also contains photos and stories that document the Foys’ lives and service to AU.

“We are very excited to support this scholarship because the Foys have meant so much to the Auburn campus and community,” said Jill Moore, AU’s assistant director of Greek Life. “Anyone who has spent very much time here knows something about them and their love for Auburn. They have been selfless in their service to the Auburn family and their embodiment of the Auburn spirit has left a legacy that will benefit us for generations to come.”

The cookbooks cost $15 each and may be purchased online at: www.auburn.edu/panhellenic/bookpage.html or by visiting the Greek Life Office, located at 356 Foy Student Union. Moore said the books can be delivered to anyone on AU’s main campus and can be mailed to anyone off campus for an additional $5.
