"Celebrate Auburn! A-Day Weekend 2005" starts Friday

Auburn will host its annual spring football game on Saturday, March 19 at 1 p.m. at Jordan-Hare Stadium which highlights a full weekend of activities on the Auburn campus and in the city.

"Celebrate Auburn! A-Day Weekend 2005" will include the annual Football Lettermen's Club Tiger Walk Run, a fireworks show, an autograph session after the football game, interactive games and live entertainment at the Tiger Team Village and a street dance at Toomer's Corner.

The Auburn Football Lettermen's Club will host its annual A-Day Race on Saturday morning with the 5K race beginning at 8:30 a.m. and the 1-mile fun run at 9:10 a.m. Both races will finish on the 50-yard line of Jordan-Hare Stadium. On Saturday night, the Auburn Chamber of Commerce will host a street dance at Toomer's Corner at 8 p.m. with local band, Kidd Blue. The event is free to the public.

The Athletic Department will host a reunion for all alumni athletes, coaches and support personnel during the weekend. Activities will include a reception on Friday and a tailgate prior to A-Day on Saturday. Tickets for the A-Day football game are $5 for the general public and free for Auburn University students. Tickets will go on sale at the Athletic Ticket Office and Auburn area bookstores on Monday, March 15. No internet or phone orders will be accepted. Due to construction, only the west side of the stadium will be open for seating.

The Auburn baseball team faces Tennessee in a three-game series with games slated for 7 p.m. Friday, 4 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday.

Single-game Tennessee and all series baseball tickets will go on sale on Monday, March 14. Single game tickets are $10 and series tickets are $30. Baseball tickets may be ordered at www.auburntigers.com or by calling 1-800-AUB-1957 (ext. 1).

The Auburn men's tennis team will face Arizona St. at 9:30 a.m. and the women host South Alabama at 2 p.m. on Friday at the Luther Young Tennis Center.
