The purpose of the paper is to examine, a current issue in the counseling profession from the perspectives of instructional objectives 2-6 of this course. Students may select the issue that will be the focus of their papers.

The paper will integrate three areas of research:

1) An actual or virtual interview with a practicing counselor

2) Related material from the text, and class lectures and discussions.

3) Related information for the professional literature (i.e. library & internet research,).

Students may submit an outline of the paper for feedback anytime prior to two weeks before the paper is due. All topics must be approved by the instructor by the fifth class session. Abstracts of students papers will be posted on the class web site. Due Dec. 3

2-15% Weekly Quizes (P-74%)/NP<74%) -on readings

3-35% Final examination-during final exam period

4-15% Class participation, peer evaluation, class session homework (P/NP) -contribution to achievement of course instructional objectives.
