Prior to that promotion he served from 1995 as Marching Band Director and Associate Professor of Low Brass at Auburn University. Under his direction the Auburn University Marching Band received national acclaim. The marching band’s membership grew from 275 to 375, the largest marching band in the history of Auburn University, during his tenure as director, and in 2004, the AU Marching Band received the Sudler Trophy Award, the nation’s highest and most coveted award for college and university marching bands… [full biography]
	Dr. Corey Spurlin Associate Director of Bands e-mail: cspurlin@auburn.edu telephone: (334) 844-4166 Corey Spurlin served his first year as Associate Director of Bands, Marching Band Director, and Assistant Professor of Music at Auburn University in 2007. In addition to his work with the Sudler winning Auburn Marching Band and Pep Band, Dr. Spurlin conducts the Concert Band, Campus Band, and is associate conductor of the Symphonic Band. He also teaches courses in conducting and marching band techniques. He received the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in wind conducting from Louisiana State University, where he studied with Frank B. Wickes, and the Master of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees in music education from the University of Alabama… [full biography]
	Dr. Doug Rosener Associate Director of Bands e-mail: rosendb@auburn.edu telephone: (334) 844-4166 Doug Rosener received his Bachelor’s in Music Education from Penn State University, his Master’s in Percussion Performance from the University of North Texas, and completed his Doctorate in Percussion Performance at the University of Colorado in Boulder. He has performed with many professional orchestras including the Altoona Symphony, the Boulder Philharmonic, the Sinfonia of Colorado, the Colorado Ballet Company Orchestra, and the Colorado Music Festival Orchestra. He has recorded CDs with the North Texas Wind Symphony, North Texas Chamber Players, and has been a regular drummer with several professional musical theater companies. He was also a member of the Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps from 1987 to 1990… [full biography]
	Dr. Johnnie Vinson Director of Bands Emeritus e-mail: vinsojb@auburn.edu telephone: (334) 821-2038 Johnnie Vinson was Director of Bands and Professor of Music at Auburn University from 1991 through 2007. A member of the Auburn faculty since 1969, Dr. Vinson previously served as Assistant Band Director, then as Associate Director and Director of the Marching Band before becoming Director of Bands.
