AREA V:   PRE-PROFESSIONAL MAJOR AND ELECTIVE COURSES
  FOR A MAJOR IN HUMAN DEVELOPMENT & FAMILY STUDIES

 (20 Semester Hours)

The remaining 11 hours should take into account the indicated restrictions:

·         Only courses offered at the freshman and sophomore levels at Auburn University may be elected. For courses coded as C in Section I of The Alabama College System: Course Directory, students may petition Auburn University to pre-approve courses selected under area V that are not mentioned under Area V (contact: CHSinfo@humsci.auburn.edu).

 
Restrictions on elective transfer hours:

·         Developmental, remedial or technical courses from Section II, III, and IV of The Alabama College System: Course Directory will not transfer.

·         No transfer credit will be awarded for math courses below the state approved core level of Math 110 or Math 112.


OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Fingerprint/criminal background checks are required of all HDFS majors who work with children in internships, practica, research or as part of course requirements.

All HDFS students at the sophomore level or higher will be assessed $14.50 per year for professional liability insurance.
