AREA V:   PRE-PROFESSIONAL MAJOR AND ELECTIVE COURSES FOR BUSINESS EDUCATION MAJOR
AT AUBURN UNIVERSITY
(10 Semester Hours)

The remaining 10 hours may be taken from the courses listed taking into account the indicated prohibitions. Only courses taught at the freshman and sophomore levels at Auburn University may be elected.  For courses coded as C in Section I of The Alabama College System: Course Directory, students may petition Auburn University to pre-approve courses selected under Area V that are not mentioned for this major under area V (raylind@auburn.edu). 

It is recommended that students select PSY 200 (General Psychology) in Area IV as one of the behavioral sciences. 

Students must take: 
BUS 146 Personal Finance (3 hrs.) 

If not already selected from areas II, IV, and V, students must select the following: 

1)( a) Complete the literature sequence in Area II (3 hrs.) and/or (b) PHIL 106 or 206 (3 hrs.) 

2)  ECO 231 (3 SH.) if not taken in Area IV. 

3) BUS 241 Acct I  (3 SH) or BUS 242 Acct II (3 hrs.) or BUS 261 Business Law (3 hrs.) 

Prohibitions on elective transfer hours:

·         Developmental, remedial or technical courses from Section II, III, and IV of The Alabama College System: Course Directory will not transfer. 

·         No transfer credit will be awarded for math courses below the state approved core level of Math 110 or Math 112. 


Please print this document and attach it to the Business Education AGSC Transfer Guide. Together, this document and the AGSC Transfer Guide comprise the articulation agreement for a major in Business Education at Auburn.
