AREA V: PRE-PROFESSIONAL MAJOR COURSES FOR BIOSYSTEMS ENGINEERING MAJORS AT AUBURN UNIVERSITY

(19-23 Semester Hours)

The following guidelines and restrictions apply:

No more than 23 hours may transfer in Area V for this degree program. Only courses for which the equivalents are taught at the freshman and sophomore levels at Auburn University may be elected.

Required Courses:

Calculus II-III (MTH 126, MTH 227) (8 SH)

Principles of Biology (BIO 103) (4 SH)

Recommendations:

Additional course work may be selected from the following if not used to satisfy requirements in area III:

                   Applied Differential Equations 1 (MTH 238*) 3

                  College Chemistry 1 (CHM 111*) 4

                  College Chemistry 2 (CHM 112*) 4

“C” (or Matlab) Programming (CIS 251*) 3

* Refers to the specific course number in the 1998 Alabama College System Course Directory.

Restrictions on elective transfer hours:

• Developmental, remedial, or technical courses from Section II, III, and IV of The Alabama College System: Course Directory will not transfer.

• No transfer credit will be awarded for math courses below the state-approved level core level of Math 110 or Math 112.
