Anthropology - Area V AREA V: PRE-PROFESSIONAL
MAJOR AND
(19 Semester Hours)
The following guidelines and
restrictions apply: ·
No more than 19 hours may transfer in Area V for
this 120-degree hour program. A total of 9 hours were specified in Area V by
the AGSC as required for this major. The remaining 10 hours should be used to
insure completion of degree requirements (see below) with the balance taken
as elective course work. ·
Courses recommended in Areas II - IV but not taken
should be completed as electives under Area V (select 9 hours). For example: o
A year's sequence in a foreign language is required
for the degree: FRN 101-102, GRN 101-102, SPN 101-102, FRN 201-202, GRN
201-202, or SPN 201-202. o
SPH 107 Fundamentals of Public Speaking (3 SH) is
required. o
Additional pre-professional coursework may be selected
(ANT 200, 210, 220, 226, or 230) or remaining 10 hours may be used for
electives. ·
Prohibitions on elective transfer hours: o
Developmental, remedial, or technical courses will
not transfer. o
A maximum of one computer course may transfer: CIS
146 is strongly recommended. o
A maximum of four semester hours in physical
education may transfer. o
No transfer credit will be awarded for math courses
below the state-approved core level of MATH 110 or MATH 112. ·
Only courses taught at the freshman and sophomore level
