Stay-on-Track Seminar

Mrs. Krysta Diehl and Mrs. Beverley Childress will conduct a seminar for Pre-Health Students on Monday, November 16, 2009.  At the seminar, we will discuss what it takes to become a competitive applicant for

medical, dental, optometry, pharmacy, physical therapy, physician

assistant, and similar programs; how PPAC works and how it will change

in 2010; how to prepare for entrance exams; etc.  Any student who will

be applying to one of these types of programs in the next four years

should plan to attend.

Here is the schedule for the seminar.

Pizza: 5:15-6:15 p.m. in the Chemistry Building Lobby

Browse Session: 5:30-6:15 p.m. in the Sciences Center (SCA) Lobby

Seminar: 6:30 p.m. in the Sciences Center Auditorium (SCA)

Mentor-Mentee

As a part of the Stay-On-Track Seminar this coming Monday the 16th we will have our Mentor-Mentee event.  After you have your food you'll be assigned a Mentor based on your concentration (Medicine, Dental, etc.). You and your Mentor can then eat together and ask them any questions you might have. It could be anything from what should I do for this class I'm taking next semester, to which professors are good, advice for admissions exams, or even just get to know each other. This will be a great way to meet new people within AED, so everyone is strongly encouraged to come!

There is now a Volunteer Page.  Volunteer events and information on each event from the volunteer coordinators will be posted here.  If you have any questions on volunteer events, you may email them.

We are still accepting Associate Membership applications.  Current National members only need to turn in a completed form.  See the Membership page for more information.  You can download the form here Associate Application 09.pdf or Associate Application 09.doc or on the Membership page to print and turn in with your $10 dues at our next meeting. NO CASH, ONLY CHECKS CAN BE ACCEPTED.

T-shirts are also currently for sale for $10.  See associate membership form for more information.  BRING A FORM WITH YOUR DUES OR T-SHIRT MONEY TO THE NEXT MEETING OR SCC ROOM 247.

All meetings are held in the Sciences Center Auditorium and begin promptly at 7:00 p.m. For security reasons, the SCA doors will not be propped open so please arrive on time. If a meeting is cancelled, a message will be sent to the AED Listserv as soon as possible.
