Greetings from Auburn!
I hope this spring 2012 edition of the Counselor Chronicle finds you well. We are experiencing some exciting things on campus this semester. We are most excited about the total number of National Merit Scholars that enrolled at Auburn University for the fall of 2011. In late January it was confirmed that 181 National Merit Scholars enrolled for classes on campus. That number made Auburn University the #2 public school in the country in terms of National Merit enrolled students. We are extremely grateful to Auburn's administration for allowing such merit aid for these highly qualified students, our Office of University Scholarships who manage and disperse these funds and the Office of University Recruitment who advertise and build relationships with these outstanding young people and show how Auburn can be the place for them.
We have some informative features to share with you in this edition. In this newsletter you will learn more about our new Dean in the College of Architecture, Design and Construction, ways your high school students can be on campus through our University Outreach Program and international options through our Study Abroad program.
As many of you may have heard, after more than nine years in undergraduate admissions, Assistant Director of University Recruitment Jim Parrish, has moved to the College of Business here at Auburn. Jim is now the Director of MBA Admission. We appreciate all Jim has done to recruit great students to Auburn and wish him much luck in his new role!
Thank you and War Eagle!
