Director of University Recruitment
Cindy is a native of Chilton County in Alabama and grew up in a strong Auburn family. She graduated in 1979 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education. Cindy was in the travel industry for almost twenty years before returning to Auburn University in July 2002. After working in Alumni Development for the College of Business for five years, she joined the recruitment team in December 2006 and now leads a team of 10 recruiters who travel throughout Alabama and around the country.
The Auburn Creed is very special to Cindy as it is to all Auburn alumni who adopt the last line which reads "I Believe in Auburn and love it!"
Assistant Director of Territory Management
Jim Parrish is the Assistant Director for Territory Management and serves as the contact for Washington, D.C., Maryland, Virginia, and Virgin Islands. Jim is a 2002 graduate of Auburn University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication and is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Higher Education Administration from Auburn. Jim is originally from Birmingham, AL and he is married to the former Deena Earwood from Trussville, AL. She is a 2003 Auburn graduate in Human Development and Family Studies. Jim enjoys visiting with prospective students to show them that Auburn University is the place for them through his personal experiences, our institutional credibility, and a school spirit that cannot be duplicated.
Admissions Advisor/Coordinator of Minority Recruitment
Helen has been a part of the Auburn family since 1999 serving as an Admissions Advisor, Associate Director, and Coordinator of Minority Recruiting. She has more than 21 years of experience in College Admissions, Financial Aid, and Records. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Marketing, a Master's degree in Educational Administration/Student Personnel Services, and has completed degree requirements for a second Master's degree in General Counseling.
Helen serves as an Admissions Advisor and is responsible for coordinating the minority recruitment program at Auburn. She works very closely with the Office of Diversity and Multicultural Affairs to serve prospective minority students. Helen is committed to helping students succeed at Auburn.
While recruiting minority students across the nation, Helen also recruits students in the following states: Mississippi, Iowa, Wisconsin, Connecticut, Delaware, Missouri, and Rhode Island.
Admissions Advisor/Events Coordinator
Heather joined the Office of University Recruitment in 2010. She serves as an admissions advisor and as Event Planner for all on and off campus recruitment events. Heather is originally from Moultrie, GA and graduated from Auburn with a Mass Communications degree in 2001. Heather enjoys helping others get the best experience possible when they attend an AU event. When not working, Heather enjoys spending time with her husband Glen and their son Cooper.
Admissions Advisor/VIT Liaison
Mindy is originally from Hoover, Alabama but now calls Auburn her home! She graduated with honors from Auburn University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Radio, Television, and Film and a minor in English. After being elected “Miss Auburn” in 2005, Mindy discovered her true passion-making people fall in love with Auburn!
She loves every moment of serving Auburn as an Admissions Advisor and VIT Liaison working on special projects, events, high school and college day programs, and hosting campus visitors. Mindy also enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, shopping, reading a good book, working out, and cheering on the Auburn Tigers!
Admissions Advisor/External Relations Liaison
Amy Ware joined the office of Office of University Recruitment as the External Relations Liaison in fall 2009. Amy coordinates group tours; as well as, the alumni and parent admissions volunteer programs. She also serves as the co-advisor for the Student Recruiters.
Amy is a native of Dothan, Alabama where she graduated from Northview High School. She is a 2001 graduate of Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Public Relations. In 2007, she earned a master’s degree in Post Secondary Education from Troy University. In her spare time, Amy enjoys watching Auburn football and spending time with her family and friends.
Front Desk Supervisor
"Miss Nancy" is originally from Tuskegee, Alabama. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Auburn. She has served in the Office of Undergraduate Recruiting for 10 years. Nancy's responsibilities involve the coordination of campus tours/large group tours, maintaining prospective student visitor data information, and supervising a team of student workers who serve as our front desk and reception staff.
Administrative Support Associate
Amanda graduated from Auburn in 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication. Upon graduation, Amanda was offered the opportunity to stay on The Plains working in the Office of Admissions and University Recruitment.
During her off time, Amanda likes to sew, read, and watch Auburn football, War Eagle!, cook, fish, and spend time with her family!
Administrative Support Associate
Wendy Sims joined the Office of University Recruitment in spring 2007 as Administrative Support Associate for University Recruitment, Scholarships, and Enrollment Services Operations. She was born and raised in Opelika, AL, and has been employed with Auburn University for 13 years. She enjoys spending time with her husband and two children.
Admissions Advisor - Central and Southwest Georgia / California, Nevada, Ohio, Oregon, South Dakota, Washington
Allison became part of the Auburn family in 2009. She lives in North Georgia and recruits in Georgia outside the Atlanta area. Auburn University’s spirit, beautiful campus and all the meanings of “War Eagle!” are just a few of her favorite things to share with students. She believes that if a person steps foot on Auburn’s campus they’ll feel pride and enthusiasm for the “Auburn Experience” that cannot be matched. In her free time, Allison enjoys reading, playing with her dog Marley and hanging out with friends and family.
Jim Ferguson joined the Admissions and Recruitment staff in September 2008 as an on-campus Admissions Advisor.
Before retiring in 2005, Jim enjoyed a career spanning 34 years that included six years as an officer in the United States Army and 28 years as a university administrator. From 1993 – 2002, Jim served as Vice President for Administrative Services at Auburn. Jim’s formal education includes BS, MBA and PhD degrees, all from Texas A&M University.
Jim and his wife Jane live near Lake Martin where Jim enjoys golf, fishing and family activities. They have two married daughters, both of whom are Auburn graduates.
Admissions Advisor - metro-Atlanta / Arizona, Idaho, Utah
Kate Henderson serves as a regional recruiter for the metro-Atlanta area. Living full time in Marietta, GA, Kate spends her time sharing her love of Auburn with all her "Georgia Peaches"! Originally from Alabama, Kate graduated from Auburn University in 2003 with a Bachelor's Degree in Communications and in 2004 with a Master's Degree in Higher Education Administration.
When not recruiting for Auburn, Kate spends time with her family and friends, watching Auburn Tiger football, working out and cooking.
Admissions Advisor - North Alabama / Nashville, TN / Indiana, Montana, Alaska
Virginia graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Vocal Music Performance as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication, both within the College of Liberal Arts. In the fall of 2008 she joined the Undergraduate Recruitment team as an Admissions Advisor.
Virginia spends her time with her family and friends, traveling and enjoying good food and great music.
Admissions Advisor – Birmingham / Illinois, New Jersey, New York
Louisa Thompson joined the undergraduate recruitment team in the summer of 2008. She is from Opelika Alabama where she attended Opelika High School '03. Graduating from Auburn University with a Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Louisa now serves as an Admissions Advisor. She recruits students in Shelby and Jefferson counties in Alabama. She also recruits in Illinois, New Jersey, and New York. When she is not recruiting, Louisa enjoys traveling, Auburn football, and spending time with friends and family!
Admissions Advisor - Montgomery and West Alabama / Chattanooga and Knoxville, TN / Kansas, Kentucky, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma
Evan graduated from Auburn in 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication and a concentration in Art and Art History. In addition to classes, Evan made the most out of his Auburn experience by complimenting his education with involvement in a diverse array of student organizations. Aside from recruiting, Evan enjoys spending time with family and friends, watching Auburn football and the lesser known but just as great, Auburn lacrosse team.
Admissions Advisor - East Alabama / Memphis, TN / Arkansas, Hawaii, Michigan
Originally from Arlington, Texas, Jake chose to leave the great state to attend Auburn University after falling in love with the campus on a college visit. Jake graduated from Auburn in May of 2007 with a bachelor's degree in Public Relations with plans to join the Army but was offered a position in the Admissions Office.
Outside the office, his interests include hunting (if you have a good spot, he's happy to go with you), fishing, triathlons and college football. Jake is working to complete his Doctorate in Higher Education Administration.
Admissions Advisor - Mobile / Florida panhandle and Louisiana
Beth Tindle is originally from Mobile, Alabama and graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Studio Art in 2005. In 2007 she completed her Masters degree in Art Education and currently serves as an Admissions Advisor.
When not recruiting for Auburn, Beth's interests include spending time with her family and friends, painting, drawing, creating custom made invitations and stationery, running, triathlons, and Auburn Athletics.
Admissions Advisor -Texas / Jacksonville, Tampa and Orlando, Florida / Colorado, Pennsylvania
Carrie is originally from outside of Atlanta, GA and graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies in the College of Human Sciences, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Foreign Language Spanish within the College of Liberal Arts.
During her spare time she enjoys traveling, reading, and practicing her photography skills. Carrie joined the recruitment staff in fall of 2010.
Transfer Admissions Advisor
Jessie Shealey, is a native of Auburn, AL and graduate of one of the nation’s leading institutions in higher education - Auburn University.
On January 1, 2010 Shealey joined the Transfer Team of advisors after serving for over 10 years as Territory Manager for Montgomery County, AL and surrounding counties as well as various out of state territories. Shealey now travels throughout the State of Alabama helping students to transfer to Auburn.
Renowned for her passion for students, Shealey has become a mentor, counselor and friend to many. She enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
Transfer Admissions Advisor
Tina is a native of Auburn, Alabama and has been associated with the university for approximately twenty-three years. She holds a Bachelors degree in Communications Disorders from Auburn. Her primary responsibility is the recruitment of transfer students from various junior colleges or other universities, however, she also advises prospective freshman students and their families. Tina also has experience in registration and communication associated with the Graduate School.
Tina is married to Charles A. Temm, Jr. and lives in Salem, AL. They have one son who is now in the Infantry Training Brigade, TRADOC at Ft Benning as a drill sergeant. During Tina's spare time she likes to travel, take part in Civil War living history programs and spend time with family and friends.
Transfer Admissions Advisor
John Burgess recently retired from Auburn University after serving 30 years. He served as Director of Foy Union and Student Activities before coming to the Admissions office in 1996. John works primarily with transfer students. He received both his Bachelor of Science and Master's of Education from Auburn University. John is married and has two children both of whom graduated from Auburn.
