Auburn provides a variety of scholarships to eligible students through the Auburn University Scholarship Opportunity Manager (AUSOM). Students should complete the scholarship application through AUSOM by 4:45 p.m. CST December 1 to receive priority consideration for Freshman Scholarships and must complete the scholarship application through AUSOM by 4:45 p.m. CST February 10 to receive final consideration for available Freshman Scholarships, as well as General Scholarships and Departmental Scholarships.
Incoming students are not required to submit the confirmation deposit to apply for scholarships and are only required to complete the scholarship application once each academic year. To complete the scholarship application and serach for scholarships, visit AUSOM on Admitted Students or My Finances in AU Access.
Students should complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)*, available online beginning October 1. The FAFSA must be received by Auburn University by March 1 for consideration of financial aid, including need-based scholarships.

More than 60% of Auburn students receive some type of financial assistance. The FAFSA* is available online beginning October 1 and should be received by Auburn University by March 1 for consideration of financial aid, including need-based scholarships. Types of financial aid available include grants, loans, and work-study programs.
*The FAFSA is the only form a student is required to complete to be considered for student assistance from any of the Title IV HEA programs, except for information needed to ensure the student’s eligibility for such assistance (e.g., information needed to complete verification or to demonstrate compliance with the student eligibility provisions of the HEA and the regulations).
