AUBURN-LSU FOOTBALL; ALL SEC ATHLETIC EVENTS POSTPONED

AUBURN -- The Auburn-Louisiana State football game scheduled for Saturday night in Baton Rouge, La., has been postponed, along with all weekend Southeastern Conference athletic contests, in light of Tuesday's attacks on the United States.

The decision was announced Thursday by Auburn University Interim President William F. Walker following a conference call with SEC-member presidents and SEC Commissioner Roy Kramer.

"This is a good decision and the right thing to do," said Walker."Our nation is hurting and our people need time to reflect and heal. I call on members of the Auburn Family everywhere to reach out in prayer and remembrance of the victims of these horrible acts."

Meanwhile, Kramer said he would confer later with SEC athletic directors about rescheduling games that were to be played Saturday.

Auburn and LSU had been scheduled to kick off at 6:45 p.m., on ESPN.
