AU TO HOLD ANNUAL TIGER PICNIC APRIL 25 TO PROMOTE UNITY

AUBURN -- The 13th Annual Tiger Picnic to promote unity and understanding will be Friday, April 25, on the Auburn University campus.

The picnic -- open to all students, faculty, staff and administrators -- will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the Foy Union lawn. More than two dozen vendors in Auburn and Opelika are donating food or are assisting financially to the picnic.

Montgomery radio station WZHT, "Hot 105," will broadcast live from the picnic and drawings will be held to give away T-shirts, hats and coupons.

"The unity picnic is just one of the efforts in the Office of Minority Advancement for Undergraduate Student Services to recognize organizations and student groups who have come together to work together," says Vivian Larkin, director of the Office of Minority Advancement for Undergraduate Student Services.

"Unity promotes a commitment to excellence and diversity and we feel that is at the heart of Auburn University," Larkin said.

Donor vendors include: Anders Bookstore, J&M Bookstore, Little Caesar's Pizza, Winn-Dixie of Montgomery, Heartstrings, Mr. Gatti's, Buffalo Connection, Subway, Auburn Flower Shop, Food World in Auburn, Flowers Baking Company, Kroger of Auburn, Golden Crown Florists of Opelika, The Barbecue House, Captain D's, McDonalds, Niffers, and Burger King.
