AUBURN UNIVERSITY CLOSED, CLASSES CANCELED FOR FRIDAY, JAN. 28

Auburn University will be closed and classes have been canceled for Friday, Jan. 28, 2000, in anticipation of inclement weather

All offices and university operations will be closed, except for vital services.

Campus residence halls will remain open. Limited food service will be provided in Terrell Dining Hall. The AU Medical Center will remain open on a 24-hour basis.

In the event of a power outage or other emergency situation, the Lee County Emergency Management Agency can designate a Red Cross shelter on campus.

Spring quarter registration for seniors, which had been scheduled for Friday has been postponed until the university reopens.

The Friday meeting of the AU Board of Trustees has been postponed. The men's intercollegiate basketball game Saturday between AU and Mississippi State University has not been cancelled as of 4 p.m. Jan. 27, however fans are advised to call 1-800-AUB1957 or check www.auburn.edu under athletics before traveling to the game.
