AUBURN NAMED ONE OF NATION'S TOP FIVE COLLEGE FOOTBALL TOWNS 

      AUBURN -- Auburn has been selected by The Sporting News  as one 
of America's five best college football towns.
      Commenting on the game-day atmosphere at Auburn University, the 
magazine said:
      "When the crowd in the stadium is a couple of times the size of 
the town, you're in the right place. Jordan-Hare Stadium rocks. Toomer's 
Corner rolls. Witness Tiger Walk, when the players walk from the dorm to 
the stadium, and take ear plugs"
      Auburn was rated only behind South, Bend, Ind. Others listed in 
the top five in the magazine's Aug. 21 issue were Lincoln, Neb.; 
Tallahassee, Fla.; and Ann Arbor, Mich.
