The street closings will also eliminate traffic congestion around Auburn's baseball stadium, Plainsman Park, which is undergoing a facelift and expansion for the 1996 season. Football traffic headed to Auburn via Interstate 85 north should use Exit 42 and enter the city on Wire Road to ease congestion at the intersection of U.S. 29 (College Street) and I-85. The following streets will be closed to vehicular traffic on game days: ** Donahue Drive between Thach Avenue and Biggio Drive. ** Duncan Drive between Roosevelt Drive and Thach Ave. ** Roosevelt Drive between Coliseum Drive and Duncan Drive. The following streets will be one-way after games: ** Donahue Drive from Thach will be one-way north to Bragg Avenue. ** Thach and Samford avenues from Donahue Drive will be one-way east to Dean Road. A segment of Thach in the middle of campus which is normally closed will be open on game days to expedite traffic flow. ** Roosevelt Drive from Duncan will be one-way east to College Street. ** Hemlock Drive will be one-way south between Thach and Samford. Those driving recreational vehicles may park in the area across from Wilbur Hutsell Track on Samford Avenue at any time at no charge. RVs may park in the east parking lot of Beard-Eaves-Memorial Coliseum after 3 p.m. on Fridays. Buses will be routed to Max Morris Drill field from the intersection of Samford Avenue and Donahue Drive. Buses will be allowed no farther north on Donahue Drive than Samford Avenue. Fans with a disability who need special accommodations should park in the lot adjacent to the Nichols Center, one block northwest of the stadium. University representatives will be there to assist these fans. There are also handicapped parking spaces at various sites around the stadium. # # # aug95:AU-fbtraffic
