Clifton AUBURN TO HOST SECOND ANNUAL REAL ESTATE EDUCATION FAIR AUBURN -- Auburn University will host the second annual Real Estate Education Fair and Trade Show July 14-15 at the AU Hotel and Conference Center. The show is expected to attract more than 350 participants, says Cheryl Hulsey, program developer in the AU Outreach Program Office, which is sponsoring the event with the Alabama Association of Realtors Inc. "The inaugural effort in 1994 was extremely well received by program participants," said Hulsey. The fair and trade show was created so that real estate professionals in Alabama could obtain 12 hours of continuing education credits for recertification every two years. "A two-day program designed to provide first-class training in comfortable classroom settings would provide an excellent benefit to the industry," said Hulsey. "As word of the program's worth spread, the Alabama Association of Realtors Inc., an organization representing more than 8,000 Alabama real estate professionals, offered to serve as co-sponsor and help in advising members of the opportunity. A partnership was born." To reach a broader audience, a 16-member advisory committee was formed to assist the Outreach Program Office in planning future programs. The committee, composed primarily of prominent Alabama real estate professionals and chaired by Eloise Starbuck of Birmingham, has been instrumental in planning this year's program, says Hulsey. "The Advisory Committee has taken the Real Estate Education Fair and Trade Show to an entirely new level," said Hulsey. "We plan to have concurrent sessions throughout the meeting. This will enable brokers, agents, appraisers and other participants to attend and be confident there will be sessions tailored to their individual needs."
