-------------------- N E W S R E L E A S E -------------------- Auburn University - University Relations (334) 844-9999 ---------------------------------------------------------------- 5/26/95 Katie Skala AU EXPECTED TO GRADUATE 1,826 AT SPRING COMMENCEMENT JUNE 7 AUBURN -- Auburn University expects to award 1,826 degrees during spring quarter commencement on Wednesday, June 7, says Registrar John Fletcher. AU will confer 1,582 bachelor's, 213 master's and 31 doctoral degrees. Commencement exercises will be at 2:30 p.m. in Beard-Eaves-Memorial Coliseum. Related graduation day activities include the 154th joint officer commissioning of the Navy, Air Force and Army ROTC units at 9:30 a.m. in Langdon Hall and a reception for graduates and their families hosted by AU President and Mrs. Muse from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in Foy Union Ballroom. The AU School of Nursing Convocation Ceremony will also be Wednesday at the Auburn United at 10:30 a.m. Eighty-four seniors are expected to go through the pinning ceremony. Meanwhile, David Bronner, chief executive officer of the Retirement Systems of Alabama, will address the spring quarter commencement for the College of Veterinary Medicine on Tuesday, June 6, at 6 p.m., at the Student Activities Center. A reception will follow at the Auburn Alumni Center. Eighty-six new doctors of veterinary medicine will receive their diplomas. Auburn University at Montgomery expects to confer 471 degrees. For the four most recent academic quarters, AU's main campus will have awarded 5,634 degrees.
