TAYLOR NAMED DIRECTOR OF CONTRACTS, GRANTS ADMINISTRATION
     AUBURN -- Martha Taylor, who had been acting director of
Contracts and Grants Administration for Auburn University's
research program since October 1993, has been named director.
     Taylor's appointment was effective April 1, said AU Associate
Provost and Vice President for Research Michael Moriarty.
     "We conducted an extensive national search that resulted in
more than 70 applicants for the position," he said. "Martha was
among the top two choices selected from those applicants by the
nine-member search committee.
     "This is an absolutely critical position to fill. The whole
area of contracts and grants administration is the linchpin of the
research office."
     A graduate of the University of Florida, Taylor joined AU as
assistant director of Contracts and Grants Administration in 1989.
She was previously assistant contracts administrator and a project
specialist for the Texas A&M University Research Foundation and a
contracts technician for Environmental Science and Engineering
Inc., of Gainesville, Fla.
