AU MATHEMATICIAN HONORED BY PROFESSIONAL SOCIETY

AUBURN -- Chris Rodger, Alumni Professor in Auburn University's Department of Discrete and Statistical Science, has been awarded the Hall Medal by the Institute of Combinatorics and its Applications.

Rodger was among three 1995 recipients 1995 of the Hall Medal which is awarded to Fellows of the ICA who, in mid career, have made outstanding achievements in their profession. Recipients are nominated by their colleagues in the field of combinatorial research. They must be under age 41 and must have produced extensive research of an exceptional quality.

The ICA was formed in 1994 by the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications. Based in Great Britain, the IMA is one of the most successful mathematical societies in the world, having effectively promoted collaborative research among mathematicians in the academic, industrial and government sectors.
