AU OUTREACH OFFERS POPULAR BASS FISHING TECHNIQUES
SEMINAR

AUBURN -- Auburn University's Outreach Program Office has the perfect
Christmas gift for the sport fisherman in the family -- the two-day Bass Fishing
Techniques Institute with six of America's top professional anglers.

The program will be Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 13-14, 1996, from 8 a.m.- 4:30
p.m. at the AU Hotel and Conference Center.

"Without exception, the 1995 institute (at Lake Eufaula) drew rave reviews
from 417 participants," says Cheryl Hulsey, program developer. "Because of the
positive response, we are pleased to host the 1996 institute at the AU Hotel and
Conference Center, which can accommodate a larger group."

The professionals who will teaching the institute include:

**Mark Davis, 1995 BASS Masters Classic Champion, 1995 B.A.S.S. Angler of
the Year, and the only angler to ever win both titles in the same year. Davis is
also a five-time BASS Masters Classic Finalist.

**Denny Brauer, 1987 B.A.S.S. Angler of the Year, 1992 BASS Masters Classic
Runner-up, holder of seven national bass fishing titles, BASS Masters Classic
Finalist 14 times, 1993 Megabucks Champion and 1993 Superstars Champion.

**Rich Tauber, winner of the $50,000 U.S. Open and three-time BASS Masters
Classic Finalist.

**Kevin VanDam, bass fishing's brightest new star, who won the coveted
B.A.S.S. Angler of the Year for 1992 in only his second year on tour. He is also
a five-time BASS Masters Classic Finalist.

**Jack Hains, 1975 BASS Masters Classic Champion, seven-time BASS Masters
Classic Finalist and 1989 Red Man Angler of the Year.

**Mike Wurm, two-time BASS Masters Classic Finalist and professional bass
fishing guide.

The highly acclaimed Bass Fishing Techniques Institute is an accelerated
course in bass fishing strategy and is designed to teach a variety of techniques used
by the pros to catch bass under nearly any conditions, says the Outreach Program
Office. Each professional will teach his own techniques

Several top pros credit the seminar with providing a boost to their pro career
by teaching them many of the fine points of bass fishing. Robert Hamilton, 1992
BASS Masters Classic winner, says, "Bass Fishing Techniques is a real must for any
angler who wants to improve his skills. I attended Bass Fishing Techniques a
number of years ago and learned much of what I still rely on today."

In 1994, Bass Fishing Techniques was inducted into the National Freshwater
Fishing Hall of Fame for contributions to education and conservation. The format
of the seminar allows participants the unusual opportunity to learn in a classroom
environment from North America's top pro anglers.

Saturday's activities begin at 8 a.m. with on-site registration. After an
orientation session, participants will attend six different workshop sessions with
instructors VanDam, Tauber and Wurm. Activities recess at 4 p.m., but participants
are invited to attend informal "think tank" sessions with individual instructors
until 4:45 p.m.

Sunday's schedule begins at 9 a.m. as instructors Brauer, Hains and Davis
conduct an additional six sessions followed by Sunday's "think tank."
