AUBURN ALUMNI HOSPITALITY TENT TO HOST MILITARY ALUMS
AUBURN -- In celebration of Veterans' Day weekend and in recognition of Auburn University's strong ties to its military graduates, the Auburn Alumni Association is inviting all AU active military alumni to be its special guests at the ALUM Hospitality Tent on Homecoming Day on Nov. 9.
The tent will be open for three hours prior to the Tigers' 1 p.m., football game against Louisiana-Monroe.
"Auburn has always had close ties with its military graduates around the world, and they are among our most loyal alumni," said Betty DeMent, vice president for Alumni Affairs. "We felt like Veterans' Day weekend would be a great time to recognize that relationship."
There will be live entertainment, food and refreshments, and visits by Aubie and the AU cheerleaders and band. The tent is located at the corner of Duncan and Roosevelt drives, adjacent to Jordan-Hare Stadium.
Representatives from Auburn's ROTC units will also be present to share information about their programs, and other special events are planned.
Visitors may also sign a giant greeting card expressing thanks to AU soliders, sailors and marines at home and abroad. Afterward, the card will be photographed and shared with military alumni through inclusion in Auburn Magazine and the Alumni Association web site.
Alumni servicemen and women and their families will be admitted to the tent if in uniform or with a current military ID. For more information, call the Auburn Alumni Association at 334/844-2586, visit the association's web site, or e-mail.
