AU SINGERS PRESENT FALL SHOW DEC. 3 & 4 AT TELFAIR PEET

AUBURN -- The Auburn University Singers will present their annual Fall Show on Monday (Dec. 3) and Tuesday (Dec. 4) at the Telfair Peet Theatre on campus.

There will be performances at 8 p.m. both days, plus an additional show at 6 p.m., on Tuesday. Tickets are $8 each and can be reserved by calling 334/844-4194, or purchased at Goodwin Hall, Room 113.

The AU Singers, a show choir of 32 singers and nine instrumentalists, is directed by Thomas Smith, head and professor of AU's Department of Music as well as director of Choral Activities at AU.

The 2001 show will feature a variety of choral entertainment for all ages. From the music of Broadway to inspirational ballads, the show is complete with staging and choreography. Included in the show will be "Nothing Can Stop Me Now", "We Never Really Say Goodbye", "Rhythm of the Night", "With One Voice", "From A Distance", "Touch the Future", "Chattanooga Choo Choo", "Soul Man," and a medly of dance tunes called "Land of a Thousand Dances."

The Fall Show will also feature several solo and small group selections.

During the singers' 30-year history, the group has performed internationally and has traveled across the United States. This past summer, the group toured the East Coast with performances in Washington, D.C., New York City and Charlotte, N.C. While in New York, the singers performed at Lincoln Center and on NBC's Today Show.
