<p><b>RENOVATED INTERIOR ENVIRONMENTS LAB OPENS IN HUMAN
SCIENCES</b>
<p>AUBURN -- An open house and dedication for a renovated
studio/laboratory in the interior environments program of Auburn University's
School of Human Sciences has been scheduled for Friday, Nov. 3.
<p>The laboratory, located in room 106 Spidle Hall, will be utilized as a
hands-on teaching studio and will be dedicated at 3:30 p.m. A reception will follow
on the lawn of Spidle Hall.
<p>The laboratory has been a collaborative effort on the part of business,
industry and the university to provide more effective learning opportunities and
professional preparation for students, says Mary Clem, coordinator of the interior
environments program in the School of Human Sciences, who is coordinating the
program.
<p>"The interior finishes, materials, equipment and furnishings have been
provided by the Interior Environments Advisory Board through contacts with
manufacturers and distributors.
<p>"The experiential nature of instruction and learning in this laboratory
will enable students to achieve a level of technical knowledge and competence that
is essential in the field of interior environments," says Clem.
