AU'S COLLEGE OF EDUCATION TO DOWNLINK DISABILITIES CONFERENCE
AUBURN -- Auburn University's College of Education will downlink a live conference via satellite on "Support Services for Students with Disabilities in Postsecondary Education Settings," on Wednesday, Oct. 18.
The three-hour interactive videoconference, originating from Mississippi State University, will begin at 12:30 p.m. in Haley Center, Room 3013.
The conference is free, but advanced registration is required. Call Cynthia Duffie in the College of Education Dean's Office at 334/844-4446 to register.
"If you are a vocational rehabilitation counselor, college administrator, guidance counselor, parent, teacher or student support services coordinator, you play a key role in the success of college students who have disabilities," says RenŽe Middleton, director human resources planning and development for the College of Education.
"Videoconference participants and scholars will examine and discuss a wide variety of issues related to support services for students with disabilities and we encourage those interested to attend."
Experts will discuss issues such as the legal issues associated with accommodating students with disabilities, the needs of students with disabilities in postsecondary educational settings and the issues in addressing housing and equipment needs, personal assistance and accessibility for college students with disabilities.
