AUBURN INTRODUCES 'THE SCHOLARSHIP COLLECTION'

AUBURN --- Auburn University is offering its supporters a unique way to support AU academics with the introduction of The Scholarship Collection, apparel designed especially for Auburn fans from which 100 percent of the proceeds go to the university's scholarship fund.

The Scholarship Collection debuts this weekend with three fashionable, professional and distinctively Auburn neckties --- all handmade from 100 percent silk and with designs not found in any other neckties. The styles include AU Orange Geometric, AU Blue with Orange Stripe and AU Blue Club tie with logo. Each tie comes in regular (57-inch) and long (61-inch).

"These ties offer Auburn supporters the chance to do more than just show their colors," said Van Muse, assistant director of marketing and publications in AU's admission's office. "Now, they can show their colors and help a deserving student attend Auburn with a scholarship. P>"With the exception of the product cost, 100 percent of the proceeds from the sale of the ties will go toward scholarships. We hope that sales will help us offset a disparity in available scholarships that exists between Auburn and other universities and make AU more competitive for top-notch students."

The ties, priced at $49, will be available through the AU Bookstore in Haley Center beginning this weekend. Ties may also be ordered online by clicking here.

Muse said The Scholarship Collection may later expand into other apparel offerings if sales of the ties are successful.
