AU SINGERS SPRING SHOW SET FOR APRIL 28, 29 & 30 IN TELFAIR PEET

AUBURN -- The Auburn University Singers will present their annual Spring Show on Sunday, April 28, Monday, April 29, and Tuesday, April 30.

All performances will be at the Telfair Peet Theatre on the Auburn campus. The April 28 concert will be at 2:30 p.m., and 7:30 p.m., while shows on the remaining days will begin at 7:30 p.m.

The AU Singers, a show choir consisting of 32 singers and nine instrumentalists, is directed by Thomas Smith, director of Choral Activities at Auburn since 1972.

During the singers' 29-year history, the group has performed internationally and has traveled from coast to coast in the United States. This summer the Singers plan to tour the Southeast with concerts in Georgia and Florida, culminating with two appearances at Disney World in Orlando.

This year's Spring Show will feature a variety of choral entertainment for all ages. From the music of Broadway to the sounds of disco, the show will be complete with staging and choreography.

Included in the show will be "Street Party," "Rhythm of the Night," "We Never Really Say Goodbye," "With One Voice," "Soul Man," "From a Distance" and "Chattanooga Choo Choo."

Medleys will include a group of dance songs titled "Land of A Thousand Dances" and a collection of songs from the 1970s titled "Disco Fever."

In addition, the Spring Show will feature several solo and small group selections from various members of the group. As a special tribute to the 30-year anniversary of the founding of the AU Singers, the group will also perform "Another Bridge to Cross" and "What Would I Do Without My Music."

Tickets for the Spring Show are $8 each and can be reserved by calling 334/844 4194, or purchased in the Goodwin Building, Room 113.
