AU TO HOST BIRMINGHAM TECHNICAL COMMUNICATIONS GROUP
AUBURN -- Auburn University's Department of English will host the Birmingham chapter of the society of Technical Communication on Saturday, April 20.
The theme of this year's meeting, which will begin at 9:30 a.m. in the 3100 quadrant of Haley Center, is "Working Together."
Rob Houser, founding partner of User First Services, will give a keynote address on "It Doesn't Matter How Right You Are If Nobody Is Listening."
Session speakers and moderators will be professional communicators from Birmingham, Atlanta, members of the AU faculty and AU students working on master's degrees in the technical and professional communication program in AUšs Department of English.
Topics will include information on building websites and gathering information, a showcase of student portfolios and the first meeting of the newly-created advisory group for technical and professional communication programs at AU.
Registration is $5 for members of the society, $10 for non-members and free for students. Proceeds will go to the Birmingham STC chapter scholarship fund.
