HENDERSON ELECTED TO LEAD AUBURN SGA; DOMBERT CHOSEN MISS AUBURN

AUBURN -- Heath Henderson of Andalusia, Ala., has been elected president of Auburn University's Student Government Association for the 2002-03 academic year, according to election results released Friday.

And Katie Dombert of Leavenworth, Kan., was elected Miss Auburn in AU's annual campus-wide student elections on Wednesday and Thursday.

Henderson, a junior business major, collected 55.3 percent of the vote in defeating Sanford Johnson of Starkville, Miss., and Tim Patton of Montgomery, Ala.

Henderson has been a counselor at Camp War Eagle, Auburn's award-winning freshman orientation program, a member of the War Eagle Girls and Plainsmen for two years and an SGA senator.

Dombert, a junior animal and dairy science major, defeated Dawn Adams of Huntsville, Ala.; Leslie Ann Cooper of Birmingham, Ala.; Meg Crow of Fort Payne, Ala.; and Jennifer Moody of Woodstock, Ga., to earn the title Miss Auburn. She is a member of the Alpha Zeta agricultural honor and service society, Omicron Delta Kappa honor society, Rho Chi, has served as her social sorority's standards executive officer and is a member of War Eagle Girls and Plainsmen.

In other races, Steven Bobo of Opelika, Ala., a junior microbiology major, was elected SGA vice president and Nick Wade of Birmingham, a junior majoring in accounting and management information systems, was elected treasurer.
