Auburn University Official
Ring Savings Program
You have arrived at Auburn. Now, it's time to set your sights on the next milestone...earning the right to wear the Auburn University Official Ring. It is easier than ever to save for your ring so you'll be ready to receive it once you have completed your first 75 hours at Auburn.
The Auburn University Official Ring Savings Program allows you to save over time for this symbol of your college success. Here's how it works. When you enroll in the Program, deposit $90 into your Ring Savings Account for the next six spring and fall semesters, enabling you to save $540 by the time you are eligible to reserve your Auburn ring. If you reach 75 hours in fewer than six semesters, it's no problem. We will notify you as soon as you become eligible and will assist you in reserving your ring.
Each ring symbolically captures the uniqueness of Auburn University. The first thing you notice is the instantly recognizable, interlocking "AU." Each side of the ring has an eagle-one symbolically facing the past, the other the future. On the side depicting the rich heritage of the past is the University seal, as well as the founding date, 1856. The Auburn Mission Statement is reflected in the words on the seal: Instruction, Research, and Extension. Looking to the side representing the future, we see the Auburn Tiger mascot and below that the post victory Toomer's Tradition represented by the streamer in the branches. The interlocking "AU" at the bottom of each side is followed by four lines wrapping around the palm of the ring. Each line symbolizes a vital, foundational element of Auburn: Students, Faculty, Administration, and Alumni-the Auburn Family. "War Eagle," the battle cry uniting all associated with Auburn, will be engraved on the inside of each band. The recipient's initials, degree and graduation year can also be engraved on the inside of the ring to the right of "War Eagle." Juniors and seniors wear the ring with the school name facing them. Upon the granting of degrees at Commencement, graduates turn the ring around, with the name facing outward. This symbolizes that the graduate is now ready to face the world.
