What is the Optional Meals Plan?

A Required Participation Plan is automatically established when the required amount is funded from the student's tuition and fee payments. If desired, however, students may also establish an additional Optional Meals Plan. The Optional Meals Plan Program allows participating Auburn University (AU) students to purchase a set number of meals at selected AU campus dining locations using a "meal point" account that is accessible through each student's AU TigerCard. This plan exists in addition to the Required Participation Plan.

In order to make purchases on an Optional Meals Plan using an AU TigerCard, an AU student first must deposit funds into that Account. Meals on the TigerCard will be subtracted from the meal points in the student's Optional Meals Account. Students cannot make cash withdrawals of funds deposited in an Optional Meals Account.

Applications for an Optional Meal Account must be made electronically. Each Optional Meals Account is subject to the terms and conditions contained in the Optional Dining Agreement and Disclosure Statement, as it may be amended from time to time. Any student who elects to open an Optional Meals Account, should please read the applicable Terms and Conditions and print a copy for his or her records.
