The following action regarding your institution was taken at the December 2005 meeting of the Commission on Colleges:
The Commission reviewed the First Monitoring Report following reaffirmation (this is the Second Monitoring Report following review of governance issues in December 2003) and a Special Committee Report. In order to ensure continuing compliance with the Principles of Accreditation, the Commission requested that the institution address in its Fifth-Year Follow-Up Report, due March 1, 2008, continued compliance with the following referenced Principles:
CS 3.2.1 (Governance and Administration)
The institution should provide a report on progress concerning the search for a president.
CS 3.2.3 (Governance and Administration)
The institution should provide a report demonstrating that the Board complies with Auburn’s own Code of Ethics with respect to conflicts of interest. The institution must also confirm that an appropriate policy has been adopted whereby board members can be dismissed. Please include a copy of the policy.
CS 3.2.10 (Governance and Administration)
The institution should provide a report on the periodic evaluation of the president.
Guidelines for the additional report also are enclosed. Because it is essential that institutions follow these guidelines, please make certain that those responsible for preparing the report receive the document. If they have questions about the format, contact the Commission staff member assigned to your institution. When submitting your report, please send the original and two copies to your Commission staff member.
