Campus ViolenceFor an EMERGENCY always dial 911 first. The Auburn University campus is located on about 1843 acres within Lee County, Alabama. The buildings and venues on campus are spread out, requiring some students to commute to different areas. The University provides Tiger Transit to allow for a safe and fast means of travel throughout the campus area. We urge students to ride the Tiger Transit buses when traveling long distances or when they feel that walking is not the best choice such as late at night. Auburn University can not prevent all forms of violence, however the University continues everyday to try and make the campus a safer place. Students and employees can help protect themselves by being aware of their surroundings and not taking unnecessary risks. In many cases, it has been found that students who travel with a friend or acquaintance are less likely to become a victim of random violence. This website will provide tips for you to follow that will help you avoid any problems or violence while on campus. If you can not find a resource or have any questions that are not answered, please give us a call at (334) 844-8888 or email the Auburn University Department of Public Safety & Security at publicsafety@auburn.edu.
