COVID-19 Diagnosis or Suspected Exposure

What if I have been tested for COVID-19 and I am awaiting results?

  • You should self-quarantine.

  • Notify your supervisor and, if possible, work remotely during this time.

  • If you have medical concerns or questions, you should contact your healthcare provider, the EAMC COVID-19 hotline at (334) 528-7425, or the Auburn University Medical Clinic at (334) 844-9825.

What if I have tested positive for COVID-19?

  • Isolate yourself and follow the guidance of your healthcare provider and local health department.

  • As soon as possible, notify your supervisor.

  • Refer to the CDC website for tips on “what to do if you are sick”, and what must happen before you can discontinue home isolation.

What if my employee has tested positive for COVID-19?

What if a co-worker is deemed to be a close contact of an employee who is COVID-19 positive?

What if an employee lives with someone who is COVID-19 positive and cannot avoid close contact?

What if an employee has had a secondary exposure (contact with a person who has had close contact with another person who is being tested due to COVID-19 symptoms or exposure)?

  • The employee should maintain physical distancing and self-monitor for fever and symptoms.

  • All employees should continue to practice good hygiene by:

    • Washing their hands frequently.

    • Avoid touching their face.

    • Wiping down frequently touched surfaces regularly.

  • All employees must also wear face coverings in all indoor and outdoor spaces. (Effective Monday, Sept. 28, face coverings are required outdoors only if physical distancing is not possible. Previous guidance will continue to apply to indoor situations.)
