Residence Hall Move Out Information
Spring Break Closing and Opening
All residence halls except South Donahue, Boyd and Sasnett Halls are closed for spring break. All residents must leave the residence halls and do not have hall access during the break. All residents receive notification to their TigerMail accounts regarding closing and opening dates and times. Residents who fail to leave the residence hall by the stated deadline are assessed a $50 dollar late departure fee.
End of Spring Semester Move Out
All residents receive notification to their TigerMail accounts regarding spring closing dates and times. Any residents participating in spring commencement (i.e., graduating seniors, family members of graduating seniors, and/or residents participating in commencement) may request to stay in the residence hall beyond the closing deadline.
After residents vacate assigned rooms and remove all personal belongings, they must check out at a centralized check out station and return their keys to a Housing staff member. The three-step check out process is quick and easy.
- Remove all personal belongings and clean your room/suite.
- Go to the centralized check out location.
- Return your key to the RA at the check out station
Students who do not return keys to a Housing staff member will receive a $100 improper charge on their e-Bill. Any lost or unreturned keys will result in a $100 lock change fee. No keys will be accepted through the mail. For those wishing to dispute move-out related charges, you can submit a request to dispute. To be considred, requests must be submitted within 30 days of when the charge appeared on the eBill.
Any current on-campus residents who have applied and secured on-campus summer housing must check out completely from their spring semester housing assignment. They will move in to their new summer housing assignment on the scheduled check in day.
