Welcome

Introduction of Don Large – Executive Vice President
of AU Liason for Staff Council

 Elections:

            Steering Committee

            Chair-Elect

            Introduce Debbie Griggs

 Congratulations

 Senate response:

Senate Rules Committee met to discuss the Fisher Report.  The would like to know if the Staff and A&P have a preference of University Senate & Faculty Senate.  Fisher Report suggests disbanding University Senate.

Difference: If they disband the University Senate and create a purely Faculty Senate- Staff & A&P would not be represented, nor would the central administration.  Currently all governance groups are represented.

             Tissie – agree w/Conner

            Jenny – agree w/Conner

Vic – Ideal – University Committee composed of leadership of all governance groups.

A&P – Appreciates the relationships developed over the last couple of years and wishes those to continue.  Discuss board.

Wendy – OK to have separate

 BOT meetings – April 14th

Fisher Report –

We offer no pointed suggestions about the University Staff Council and the Administrative Professional Assembly. Persons interviewed in each group seemed uniformly capable, reasonable and committed. Both groups deserve attention and a serious ear.

Lynne Hammonds – Job Descriptions are being finalized and we should be receiving information shortly.

Notice sent – for approval to allow President to approve Bylaw changes.

Notice sent – for waive of the $200 Admission Charge for employees – Senate approves and A&P voting on it.

Notice being sent to Intercolliate Athletic Committee to allow Chair-elect to sit on subcommittee and then follow up on full committee during chair.

Request sent to President asking for Staff Representation on Wellness Committee – granted.
