Resolution for Changes to the Name, Constituency, and Charge of the Non-Tenure Track Instructors Committee

Whereas non-tenure track faculty members currently include instructors, clinical and research faculty as well as faculty in the Alabama Cooperative Extension System, and

Whereas language in the Faculty Handbook establishing the Senate’s Non-Tenure Track Instructors Committee was written before clinical and research faculty tracks were established, and

Whereas clinical and research faculty, and other non-tenure track faculty share many common concerns with instructors,

Therefore, the Non-Tenure Track Instructors Committee recommends that its charge be expanded to include concerns brought forward by all non-tenure track faculty members. Such an expansion in charge will require that the current description of the committee in the Faculty Handbook and its name be revised accordingly.
