Call to Order 

 

The meeting was called to order at 3:00 p.m. by the chair, John Mouton.

 

John Mouton, Chair of the Senate:  The first business of order is to approve the minutes from our January 13, 2004 meeting.  Are there any additions, corrections or deletions to the minutes?  There being none; the minutes are accepted as approved.  We have one action item this afternoon and that is the nomination for the Rules Committee.  Paula, you will keep a record of the nominees.  If people want to come to the microphone and make nominations for the Rules Committee.  Please.

Nominations for the Rules Committee.

Conner Bailey, Substituting for Ag, Econ, and Rural Sociology:  I would like to nominate Virginia O’Leary (Psychology).

David King, Substituting for Geology and Geography:  I would like to nominate Rik Blumenthal (Chemistry).

David Bransby, Agronomy and Soils:  I would like to nominate Kathryn Flynn (Forestry and Wildlife Sciences).

Christa Slaton, Political Science:  I would like to nominate Ruth Crocker (History).

Richard Penaskovic, Philosophy Department:  I would like to nominate Paul Starr (Sociology).

John Mouton, Chair of the Senate:  Are there other nominations?  Please.

Bob Locy, Biological Sciences:  I would like to nominate David Cicci (Engineering).

Conner Bailey, Ag, Econ, and Rural Sociology:   I had spoken with David…Dr. Locy, did you talk with David today?   He indicated that he would not be available to serve this year.

John Mouton, Chair of the Senate:  We will follow up on that.  Thank you.  Are there any other nominations?  Do we need to read a list of the nominations?  There being no more nominations, we are going to go ahead and adjourn the Senate Meeting and we will begin the Faculty meeting.  Okay…we will start the Faculty Meeting at 3:15.  This meeting is adjourned.
