Nominations Open for Assembly Committee Membership (updated August26, 2008)
All A & P employees are invited to become involved in the work of the Administrative & Professional Assembly by serving on one of the A & P Committees. Please consider nominating yourself or other A & P employees. Nominees must have been an A & P employee for at least one year; if you are nominating someone other than yourself please verify their willingness to serve.
Service terms begin October 1, 2008 and expire September 30, 2011, unless otherwise noted. Appointments to A & P committees are presented to the A & P Assembly for approval based on names provided by the Nominations & Elections Committee. Committee descriptions and the number of vacancies on each committee are identified below.
Nominations and Elections Committee
3 openings to serve until 2011
The Nominations and Elections Committee is responsible for submitting nominations for officers and standing Assembly committee members to the Assembly for approval, making recommendations to the University Senate Rules Committee for membership on senate committees, and making recommendations to the President for membership on university committees. This committee shall set general election guidelines, maintain election eligibility, and maintain voting records. The Nominations and Elections Committee shall oversee all aspects of final election processes. Assembly members receiving nomination for elections shall be ineligible for Nominations and Elections Committee membership.
Professional Development Committee
3 openings to serve until 2011
The Professional Development Committee is charged with aiding and encouraging the professional growth and development of the Administrative and Professional members. The Committee studies and recommends on professional leave, continuing education, and recognition of professional achievement.
Welfare Committee
3 vacancies
The Welfare Committee reviews and makes recommendations about Administrative and Professional salaries, benefits, and evaluation procedures.
Calendar and Schedules Committee
1 vacancy
Chaired by the Secretary of the A&P Assembly, the Calendar and Schedules Committee recommends policies and changes to the University Calendar and Schedules Committee and to the Assembly Executive Committee.
Grievance Committee
5 vacancies (The Constitution requires a representative from all V-P areas. Nominees should come from the following areas: Outreach, Student Affairs, Alumni, Research, Executive V-P).
The Grievance Committee provides mediation teams to assist with the resolution of work-related complaints and evaluates grievances filed by Administrative and Professional employees and make recommendations to the president and appropriate vice-president.
The deadline for nominations is Friday, September 12. Nominations should be accompanied by a completed biography form for the nominee and e-mailed to apnecom@auburn.edu . The bio-form can be downloaded in Word or PDF formats.
University Senate Committee Nominations Requested (updated August27, 2008)
The opportunity to serve on a University Senate committee is another way A&P employees can become active in University affairs. There are openings for one A&P employee on each of the following University Senate committees:

Faculty Welfare Committee

President's Fellowship Program (updated July2, 2008)
Dr. Gogue has accepted two A & P employees into the President's Fellowship Program. David Hennessey and Kirsten Perkins will participate in the leadership program this year. David is Assembly represenative for Place 17 and member of the Executive Committee; Kirsten recently completed a 3-year term as representative for Athletics. Congratulations to David and Kirsten!
A & P Consulting Policy - One year Trial Period Starts June '08 (updated May 21, 2008)
The Administration of Auburn Univeristy has agreed to allow a one year trail period for the newly approved A & P employee Consulting Policy. This trial period begins June of 2008 at which time A & P employees will be able to take advantage of this new policy. The trial period runs through May of 2009. This time will be used to collect information on the workings of the policy and if any changes will need to be made to the policy. The policy, with application, can be found here. 2008 - 2009 Assembly Postings
Assembly Meeting - Wednesday August 20th at 1:00p.m. in the new student union building (updated August 19, 2008)
The Administrative and Professional Assembly will meet Wednesday,
August 20, at 1 p.m. in the new Student Center, Room 2223 (2nd floor, on the side of the building that faces Jordan Hare). The program will include an update on the
A&P Presidential Fellowship, and the Wellness and the Child Care
Initiative. For those of you who have not seen the new Student Center,
a tour of the facility will began immediately following the scheduled
meeting.All A & P members are encouraged to attend. See the A & P channel on AU Access for the meeting agenda and the not-yet-approved draft minutes from the May Assembly meeting.
Nominations are being sought for Available Seats on University Committees (updated May 2, 2008)
The Nominations & Elections Committee is seeking nominees for A&P
representatives on University Committees to submit to the Office of the
President. Two names will be submitted for each opening and the
President will make the appointments. Terms of service are for three
years. The committees with openings are:
Institutional Biosafety
Insurance and Benefits
Multicultural Affairs
Student Discipline
Traffic Appeals (3)
Persons interested in serving on a committee should indicate the
committees in which they have interest and download and complete a bio.

Assembly Representatives Election Results (updated April 2, 2008)
The results of the elections for Assembly Representatives were announced by the Nominations and Elections Committee during the Assembly meeting on Wednesday March 26th.

Results of the Officer Elections held Feb. 20th, 2008 (updated Feb. 22 2008)
